kPoint Technologies has announced the release of Point of Presence (PoP), a media caching solution for video. The innovative caching solution greatly improves viewer experience by providing rapid video loading, uninterrupted video streaming and highest possible screen resolution. kPoint PoP reduces bandwidth consumption and server load by eliminating re-delivery of video content to the network.

kPoint Technologies today announced the release of Point of Presence (PoP), its innovative video caching solution for both viewers and creators. Video content requested by viewers is cached locally by PoP to be available for future requests by other enterprise users. Similarly, PoP reverse caches videos created by users and subsequently pushes them to the kPoint CDN for asynchronous distribution.

kPoint PoP improves viewer experience by providing rapid video loading and uninterrupted video streaming. Apart from greatly improved user experience, PoP offers significant savings on bandwidth usage costs as well as through its innovative pay-per-user licensing model.

Following the release, Shridhar Shukla, Managing Director of kPoint, said, “At kPoint we are constantly innovating to improve our customers’ video experience. We identified an opportunity to introduce proxy cache technology into the video delivery chain and optimize corporate network load. We have successfully deployed kPoint PoP extensively across our enterprise installations and are now delighted to announce its availability as a standard enterprise feature. ”

IBM SmartCamp 2015 – A video recap

By | Blogs, News

2015 ended with a bang for us with our superb run at IBM GEP’s SmartCamp 2015. This video blog is a small recap of moments from the event that made us proud. Go through the blog to also experience our cool text integrated with video feature and see how it makes the text interact with video seamlessly. Look out for distinct highlights in the text that will navigate you to points of interest within the video.

Technology, despite being the industry of choice in today’s über-competitive business, isn’t without its problems. While the cloud is making it easier for startups like ours looking to compete with larger established companies to set up operations, the challenges of dealing with the constant change in consumer technology and raising capital persist. I feel that this is where an initiative like IBM’s Global Entrepreneur Program (GEP) comes as a lifeline for startups to take advantage of mentoring opportunities, learn from thought leaders, and to connect with the venture community.

IBM GEP’s endeavour to foster innovations, culminating in the Pan India B2B Startup challenge, IBM GEP SmartCamp, is indeed laudable. It is a matter of great pride for kPoint to have won the Mumbai Regional finals and to have had the opportunity to present at the all India finals.

Our journey began with the SmartCamp Pune edition where judges Shrikant Sunderajan, Partner at Helion ventures, Dulles Krishnan, Executive Director-Asia Pacific at IBM Smart Commerce, Aruna Schwartz, Founder of Stelae Technologies and Anoop Mathur, Founder of CIO Angel Network gave kPoint a resounding thumbs up to present at the SmartCamp Mumbai Regional Finals. Thank you, Judges, for your support.

More success followed at the Mumbai Regional Finals where we emerged winners out of the fifteen startups that qualified. I would want to thank judges Sanjay Mehta of CIO Angel Network at IAN, Pradeep Tagare, Director of Intel Capital India, Anil Joshi, Managing Partner at Unicorn India Ventures, Sandy Carter, General Manager at IBM, Vivek Malhotra, Director at IBM Cloud – India-South Asia, Dr. Srikanth Sundarajan of Helion Ventures, Dulles Krishnan, Executive Director at IBM Industry Cloud Solutions, Asia Pacific, Ravi Kiran, Co-founder of VentureNursery, Raj Pai, Managing Director at GEF Advisors India, Rema Subramanian, Co-founder and Managing Director at Ankur Capital and Padmaja Ruparel, President at Indian Angel Network (IAN) for reposing their faith on kPoint. Special mention goes to IBM’s Twitter handle whose updates gave audiences the most impeccable live feeds.

Moving to the Grand Finale in Bangalore, it was exciting to see startups battling it out for the top spot. The passion and enthusiasm I witnessed was infectious. Competing with startups like Parablu, QuickoTechnosoft Labs, Flutura Business Solutions, Medibox Technologies, LightMetrics, Snapshopr, XLPAT TT Consultants, ShepHertz Technologies, SirionLabs, SilverPush, Qustn Technologies, Staqu Technologies,  WoNoBo, TakeMyShipment, Smartcloud Infotech, AllizHealth, and Aureas Analyticswas a delightful experience. My heartiest congratulations to the winners of the SmartCamp Grand Finale- SirionLabs, Flutura Business Solutions and ShepHertz Technologies, for their well-deserved victory. Thank you, guys for easing our pain at not winning the finals. To have competed with all of you is rewarding enough. Our technological future is certainly in some very able hands.

I would also like to thank adjudicators of the Grand Finale – V Balakrishnan, Chairman, Reservoir Ventures, Sanjay Anandaram, Partner, Seedfund Ventures, Ravi Gururaj, Chairman & Co-Founder, Frictionless Ventures, Piyush Gupta, Technology Executive, Entrepreneur, Mentor, Board Advisor and Dulles Krishnan, Executive Director, IBM Industry Cloud Solutions, Asia Pacific for their wholehearted support all throughout. Yours was one job I wouldn’t envy.

The icing on the cake for us, however, has been Sandy Carter’s message for the Mumbai winners, including a special mention of kPoint. Thank you Sandy Carter for your inspiring compliments. It is indeed a vote of confidence in the direction we have taken to build our business in uncharted territory.

kPoint Voiceover – Make your slides speak

By | Blogs, News
Documents_folder

PowerPoint is an innovative and easy-to-use program that can help you create impressive presentations. But despite its inherent strengths, a successful presentation is also greatly driven by the skills of the presenter. So imagine what it would be like if you could convert your presentations to video with a nice voice taking the viewer through the slides as they play out. And what if you had the option to choose from various voiceover artists of different accents, age group and gender?

This is the challenge that kPoint Voiceover addresses – converting your old presentations to video and giving them a new voice, a new life. kPoint Voiceover is kPoint’s text-to-speech feature that converts written script to speech effortlessly, thereby making your script come alive. kPoint Voiceover can also be used to add voice to silent video captures such as screen captures of software demos.

The one worry that organizations face while creating video content for global markets is the availability and cost of suitable voiceover talent. But with kPoint Voiceover, the voice talent is available readily. You only need to give us a presentation along with a voiceover script and we’ll convert it to video with a voiceover accent of your choice.

In case you need to make changes within your slides or script, go ahead and do it as many times as you want – kPoint will reconvert your script to speech just as easily. You can edit as much as you want or customize your scripts as per your changing requirements. Just send them to kPoint and we’ll take care of the rest.

kPoint Voiceover provides you the most human quality of voice possible. We can do voiceovers in multiple European and Asian languages apart from English. So you can publish your content for global markets quicker, while enjoying the flexibility of last minute changes. The days of looking around for multilingual voice talent are over.

Offline video is an offsite video. Keep it on a leash.

By | Blogs, News

Hats off to Google for launching YouTube Offline – the new feature that allows users to download a YouTube video and watch it when not connected to the Internet. This feature is available in select countries, India being one of them. We just love the YouTube ad announcing this feature with its goofy exaggeration of viewer’s heads spinning because of the frustration of buffer time. You can watch this cool ad here.

The problem of low or no Internet connectivity is common in certain geographies and where we work we’re no strangers to occasional Internet deprivation. So guess what? We’ve also built in offline viewing capabilities into our mobile app. But being an enterprise product, kPoint had to do a lot more than just download a video that would normally stream to one’s device.

Device lock: The video only plays on the device on which it was downloaded. So data cannot travel from device to device.

Limited shelf life: Offline videos on personal devices are even more vulnerable to theft or misuse. Making these videos available for a specified period of time minimizes the risk of data misuse while also ensuring that the data does not clog mobile device memory.

Offline analytics preserved: Viewership data for offline videos are not lost but captured once the device connects back to the kPoint application.

Offline video viewing that addresses the issues of personal device data security and analytics is the challenge that we address in our mobile app. Heads may not spin but they’ll certainly turn.

A 30% increase in sales conversion using kPoint. Watch how Logix did it.

By | Blogs, News

It was about 6 months ago that the kPoint team realized that we had accumulated a heap of commendations. The commendations being the innumerable customer compliments that we would receive in the form of feedback, thank you emails, Facebook and Twitter shout outs and phone calls. And then it hit us one fine day. The idea that these words of encouragement were manifestations of a message more profound: the power of kPoint to alter the face of video communication. And for a team that is crazy about video, what would be the best way to present this message? Through a video testimonial… what else?

Today, we have our first video case study that showcases how kPoint has brought about a significant change to the sales enablement process at Logix Infosecurity.
